day of double takes

Was yesterday. Anyway so it stared off with me talking to my ex, Chris, who is the coolest ex in the entire planet. I say this because most people change after you date em. Really were friends all over again. No awkwardness, no hate, no bullshit. So we had an actual conversation for the first time in years. Was pretty spiffy catching up.

Then I went on my way home. Mom stopped off at Wal Mart where I saw an old lady cruising through on a pocket bike.

-_-

I either hallucinated something incredible or there were some stupid people at the door. Whatever.

so yeah that was crazy.

WTF just happened

Yesterday I got a pain in my chest so painful that I couldnt even move my arms. I cried. I didnt mean to but I couldnt even explain what I was feeling to a manager. I just...cried.

A muscle relaxer + acetaminophen DIDNT fix it. After some good sleeping, I felt a little better but it still hurts. Time to call the doc.

Im deciding if I want to jump into unemployment. Maybe I could be a small cannery, providing to sac foods co op till I can finish college. Id get more financial aid anyway.

Starvation....is it worth it? Im starting to think so!

Lets say we grow our own food and stick to a mostly vegan diet...wed get by for free on food. But one thing is for sure. I was a pretty healthy person...till Wal-Mart came in my life. I havent gotten so sick in my entire life. Thank you work for killing me.

In greater news...

Sac County shelter offers grooming lessons to volunteers so I could get experience under my belt for different jobs. AND Sac City offers veterinary assistant volunteer hours...even better.

YOOOSSSSSSSSSSSS I love life. Yes!!!!

Oh dear Where did Friday go

Apologies my friends, weve had a mishap.  Our Bobcat got bogged in the mud. Since the flood weve had a few nights of rain and the ground we normally can work/drive on had taken all the wet it could handle. So my mate drove into a scrubby area to remove an old motor and when he went to turn the bobcat she dug into the ground and the mud just swallowed half of each of the four wheels.

Well we tried for three hours to get it out with a 2 ton car jack and lots of timber, then we had the guy at the back of our place with his tractor to give us a hand. They have trotters and their own training track. But the tractor was only two wheel drive with a small motor and it didnt even budge the bobcat. eventually we got the thing out and finished the work but by then Friday was a gone chicken.

So here I go with the new WEEKEND Issue... Please Enjoy:

KANGAROO Island High School students are getting a hands-on agricultural experience through KI Community Educations Parndana campus.Agriculture teacher Trevor Bolwell said there was a working farm adjacent to the school where students were taught a broad range of subjects related to the industry.
"The kids are involved with prime lamb production and run a feed-lot, so they have to go through and work out rations," he said.
They also learn about aquaponics through a barramundi growing-out facility.
Attached to the facility is a recycling system where the waste water is transported to trays with various seedlings including herbs, spinach, beans and lettuce.

The Enlightenment

This blog totally isnt on religion but....lets rant on the subject for a bit.

I hate people that assume their religion is the right religion.

This is the Wiccan creed. I chose this because Wiccan, although I dont really claim it as my own, is the closest religion to my personal beliefs.

As you see it is much like the golden rule...

except you can do whatever as long as youre ok with someone doing it to you and you are not hurting anything.

If you are good...good will come back to you...if you are bad...bad will hit you times three.

ANYWAY

so back to what this blog is really aboutz

Its about my personal enlightenment. To try as hard at stuff as I can. That things will get better.

Its hard...Im completely burnt out and feeling anxious about everything. The thought of going to class brings on the feeling of extreme anxiety.

So Ive decided I do want a double major...but heading towards vet medicine.

And work on computers =]

only cause I wanna work for GOOGLE

So I totally failed on Dinglepop the other day. I helped someone out so I could swap them but ended up helping them get first place.

lame -_-

And this morning all of my dingles were gone so I got first place but then I lagged out.

Out of the Soviet Bears Cave

History books...arent they interesting?

I dont generally find history interesting unless you throw in science (such as in my college class Intellectual US History) or you hear it from someone else that was there.  Funny thing is, when you hear it from someone else, you will either do one of two things:
  1. Think that person has the wrong facts
  2. Think the history book is wrong
And Im not saying either is right or wrong but the thing about history is it is a story...his story.  Everyones story is different.

I remember someone some point in my life telling me that the Japanese history books had some things scratched out.  I dont blame them.  The US books probably have a bunch scratched out as well.  Many things are explained in short...many MANY things.  How many people know that Thomas Jefferson actually got to know his slaves?  How many people know that he also wrote about Africans being more efficient in their work due to things like them not having to use the restroom as much (scientifically speaking, Africans retain water due to their native environment not being so water friendly.  This is a hereditary trait much like how a person has pale eyes or a dog has short fur...all due to climate.)  How many people thought that this could further feed racism?  My history books talked about camps for the Japanese and others that looked Japanese, but it was only about a paragraph long.  I imagine a Japanese book really touches on it much like how we really go on about Pear Harbor.

But Im not here to bag on anyone.  I have another story.  Yay for story time!

I have a lot of friends that are either first generation American or that were born outside of the US.  I sort of befriended an older lady named Natalya and I love love LOVE her to death.  She is possibly one of the nicest people I know.  Anyway, Natalya came to the US from Russia probably around 5 years ago with two of her kids.  She has a son and a daughter that still live in Russia.  She grew up in the Soviet Union...oh yes she did.  Of course it isnt the same Soviet Union we hear about in US history books though.

She told me that when she was little, everyone went to school and everyone was forced to keep up and learn (which is why today Russias literacy rate is extremely high.  Even though the US requires children to go to school, were not as strict and our literacy rate is very low.)  Nobody was poor but nobody was rich either (generally speaking.)  Everyone had what they needed and nothing more.  According to her, now there are tons of homeless and starving.  "I love my new home," she would say "but western culture is ruining everywhere else."

Funny story, most of the people I know from outside of the US were poor...poor as in didnt have much money.  However their life stories are so interesting.  Take another friend of mine from Ukraine.  She showed me a picture of her old house with her dogs and her grandmother and aunt (both decided to stay.)  Yes it was small but their yard?  HUGE with lots a fresh fruits and veggies everywhere!  They didnt have much at all but they had one cow and a couple of chickens.  They had what they needed which would be poor according to western standards but well off according to other standards.  Another girl I know, Lyudmila, grew up in Uzbekistan and was also considered poor according to western standards.  What did they have?  A large garden with fruits and veggies, a cow, dogs, cats, chickens, and so on.  Again...well off in some standards!  Of course I know many more from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Thailand, and so on...most which had a way and seem corrupt by another.  Most of the people I know are young so they were often considered poor, even by their country even though they had the basic essentials...food, water, a house....

Tell me...whats so wrong with just having what you need?

Dont get me wrong, I know they had to work for what they did have and I know they had to get some money to cover what they didnt have.  Here in the western world, you are considered poor if you cant buy a new $100 TV without starving.  Why is that?

Growing up Abril

Wow...first blog since April. Well it seems like Im back for now mostly because I need a place to plan.

So first up is I want to move out. I dont qualify for food stamps because I make too much ($8.90/hr wtf) which puts me in a sticky situation. I made plans based on feeding two people just in
case Adam decides to stay or I decide to pig out. Either way lol.

So first off I set my rent no higher than $800/month. I typically make at least $500 per check (typically over...but will set me at $1000 a month). Apartments Im looking into...specifically one is only $750.

Cool

I turned to my local CSA (community supported agriculture) for help on food. I found some local farms that arent only organic but cost about $80 a month for a box of fresh veggies and fruits. Seeing as Im trying to follow the new food pyramid now, I will be having less meat. However since Im oot and aboot a lot, I will kick up the grain a little more.

Utilities are still being added up. Im mostly concerned about this seeing as most people give me very off prices for utilities.

The one thing Im most definitely not worried about is the little tid bits such as toilet paper, hygienic stuff, blah blah blah. I excel in saving for
this. Hell I know how to make my own deodorant. Im set in this department.

Then I have my dearest pets. Rats and fish Im totally not worried about. Together they will probably cost me $30/year to feed and probably like $50/year to maintain in general. Dogs are where things get tricky...or interesting.

My dogs are typically raw/holistically kibble fed. There are raw feeder co ops specifically for animals. The thing is, a lot of the farms supplying to these groups supply human grade meat.

looks like I get a yummy discount. Yum.

So by working my way around, I think I got this.

Looks like I will be healthier, with lots of omnoms, and saving some...just by
using my noggin....hopefully.
